More than 800 families, community stakeholders and business leaders transformed the Big A into a rousing venue for 200 Cristo Rey Orange County High School students on Draft Day 2025. This annual event has quickly become a tradition for the three-year-old Catholic preparatory high school in Santa Ana. Students spend one day a week working at one of 60 top Orange County companies and businesses who have partnered with the year long Corporate Work Study program.
Nationally tested and proven at 41 Cristo Rey campuses across the nation, this program helps prepare students for college and future careers. Cristo Rey students come from underserved communities and often are the first in their families to graduate high school and attend college. Draft Day matches students and companies on this unique journey a short throw from home plate inside Anaheim Stadium.
The Big A was truly a field of dreams on Friday under blue skies and a bright sun for these teenage learners.
